Morse is associate director of UB’s New York State Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences and director of the HIV Clinical Pharmacology Program in the Translational Pharmacology Research Core. He will receive the prestigious Volwiler Research Achievement Award on July 17 during the Examining Excellence Awards Plenary at the AACP Annual Meeting, Pharmacy Education 2012, in Kissimmee, Florida.
Morse is a pioneer in AIDS clinical pharmacotherapy. In 1986 he was one of the initial investigators selected to be part of the NIH-sponsored AIDS Clinical Trials Group and one of the first HIV Clinical Pharmacology Specialty Laboratories in the United States. Over the past 25 years, Morse’s cutting-edge research in HIV/AIDS has received grant funding of $25.8 million as a primary investigator and $3.8 million as a co-investigator.
