Biography

Dr. Claudio de Lucia took his degree in Medicine at the University of Naples "Federico II", discussing a thesis entitled: "Role of physical activity on the prognosis of elderly patients with ischemic heart failure that underwent coronary surgery". Currently, Dr. de Lucia is post-doctoral fellow at Center for Translational Medicine, Temple University, Philadelphia under the mentorship of Dr. W.J. Koch. In 2015 Dr. de Lucia took degree with excellence in Geriatrics at the University of Naples "Federico II". Dr. de Lucia won the American Heart Association's award with the abstract presentation "GRK2 regulates a2A-AR Function and Catecholamine Release in Human Adrenal Chromaffin Cells” in AHA Scientific Sessions 2012 and won the University of Naples “Federico II” award called “PROGRAMMA STAR, LINEA 2, MOBILITÀ GIOVANI RICERCATORI 2013”. Dr. de Lucia is member of several scientific societies such as the American Heart Association (AHA) and Italian Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics. His work is based around heart failure and the molecular mechanisms involved in the regulation of signaling through cardiovascular adrenergic receptors, the study of G-protein coupled receptor function and signaling, and heart failure gene therapy. Dr. de Lucia is author of several research articles for journals with impact factor, chapters of books and abstracts for international conferences.
