Biography

She has graduated with a MSc degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Camerino, Italy. She has completed her Ph.D degree in Medical Microbiology, Immunology and Infectious Diseases and a post graduate Specialization degree in Clinical Biochemistry at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the “Tor Vergata” University of Rome, Italy. She is currently conducting postdoctoral research at the Department of Experimental Medicine and Surgery at the University “Tor Vergata” of Rome, Italy. Her doctoral studies focused on investigating the antimicrobial resistance strains in clinical samples and the nosocomial infections surveillance. She has acquired extensive experience in proteomic (MALDI-TOF MS), in molecular and biochemical techniques applied on bacterial identification and antimicrobial resistance detection. She has published four peer-reviewed papers in reputed international journals and she has been serving as a reviewer of several journals. She is a member of Italian Society of Microbiology.

Research Interest

Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) and natural plant extracts, in development of alternative bioactive agents, to fight antimicrobial resistance as well as proteomic bio-typing of antimicrobial resistance strains.
