Biography

He studied Chemistry at Department of Chemistry, DSB Campus, Kumaun University, Nainital, India and received masters degree in 2000. In 2005, he was awarded PhD in Natural Product Chemistry from Kumaun University, Nainital, Uttarakhand under the supervision of Prof. CS MATHELA, a renowned Phytochemist.His scientific output till date comprises of 60 scientific papers published in International and National Journals related to Essential Oil Chemistry, Natural Product Chemistry, separation methods, floral chemistry and quality control of aromatic and medicinal plants. He is currently working on quality control aspects of aromatic and medicinal plants. In addition, his scientific interests encompass the chemosystematics of aromatic plants of Uttarakhand Himalaya. Currently, he is working in Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, CSIR-CIMAP, Lucknow, India since July 2006, as scientist in Chemical Sciences discipline.    

Research Interest

Aromatic shrubs, Chemistry of natural products. Quality control of secondary metabolites of aromatic plants. Essential oils and their separation, enantioselective separations of enantiomeric pairs of terpenoids and aroma chemicals in one dimensional GC-FID and GC-MS. Applications of Solid-Phase Microextraction (SPME) and Headspace HS-GC techniques to study the flower volatile. Application of LC-MS/MS in method development of bioactive compounds from plant extracts.
