Carmelo Schepis

Biography

Dr. Carmelo Schepis is the Head of the Unit of Dermatology at Oasi Institute for Research on Mental Retardation and Brain Aging, in Troina – Italy since 2002.
In 1981 he received is Medical Degree (with honors) at University of Messina, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, and in 1984 he completed his Specialist Degree (with honors) in Dermatology and Venerology. He was a founder in 2001 of the SIDerP , Italian Society of Pediatric Dermatology. He is member in a reputable editorial board and is ad hoc reviewer for many other journals.

Dr. Schepis is author or co-author of 140 papers in national and international peer reviewed scientific journals and he is editor of the Monography on Tuberous Sclerosis (2004). He is, also, author of three chapters (17, 25, 48) of the book “Neurocutaneous Disorders” edited by Springer (2008). He contributed to the book “Sclerosi Tuberosa” edited by M. Ruggieri and N. His Main fields of interest are Pediatric Dermatology and Cutaneous aspects of genetic diseases.
