Biography

Dr. Boris Kysela has received his PhD in Molecular Biology from Brunel University in Uxbridge in 1994. Currently, he is working as Senior Lecturer and Group Leader at the College of Medical and Dental Sciences at the University of Birmingham, UK. He has been serving as a member of several national and international scientific grant committees and advisory panels. He has authored more than 40 research articles and publications in the top scientific journals. He is a member of American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, FASEB, Association for Radiation Research UK, International Association for Radiation Research and the American Chemical Society.

Research Interest

His main research interests include the maintenance of genome stability in the context of reproduction, genetics and biochemistry of DNA damage responses in somatic and germ cells chromatin modifications, the analysis of the DNA transactions within the chromatin environment and epigenetics, using nanotechnologies to modulate physiological responses in human cells, toxicology and nanotoxicology.
