Biography

Dr. Lenz is psychiatric resident and clinical researcher in the field of neuroscience at the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany. He studied medicine in Erlangen (Germany), Québec (Canada), Basel and Berne (Switzerland) and completed his MD in 2007. For his scientific work, he received awards from the World Federation of Societies of Biological Psychiatry (2005), the European Research Advisory Board (2007) and the European Societies for Biomedical Research on Alcoholism (2009).

Research Interest

His primary research interest focuses on biological mechanisms underlying psychiatric diseases, in particular addictive behaviors. This includes molecular research and human studies. He investigates the role of psychopharmacology, genetics, epigenetics and proteomics on pathophysiology of dependence syndromes.
