Biography

Antonio Masetti was born in Modena (Italy) on August 22, 1974. He graduated in Biological Science at University of Bologna (Italy) on March 10, 2000 discussing a thesis entitled “Faunistic study of agromyzids (Diptera Agromyzidae) and their parasitoids (Hymenoptera) in agroecosystems of Bologna province”. On 31 May 2005, Antonio Masetti obtained the PhD in Agricultural Entomology with a dissertation entitled “Molecular systematics of Diptera of agroenviromental relevance and its diagnostic applications”. He is coauthor in more than 30 scientific publications, 13 of which are articles in journals with impact factor, in the fields of biological control, evaluation of arthropod biodiversity, agroecology, monitoring and sampling of insects, biology and ecology of beneficial insects, and molecular tools for biosystematics and diagnostics of insects. Antonio Masetti is member of the Editorial Board of the international scientific journal Bulletin of Insectology and he has been reviewer for: Enviromental Entomology, Journal of Insect Science, Biopesticide International, Journal of Economic Entomology, Journal of Pest Science, and Insects
