Research has shown that sports and exercise may be an effective treatment for drug rehabilitation. This study examines the
effects of basketball on the executive functions of male attendees at a compulsory-isolation drug rehabilitation centre. Data
were collected from 40 male participants via convenience sampling from a compulsory-isolation drug rehabilitation centre
in Linfen, Shanxi Province and divided into an intervention and a control group. The intervention group participated in
16 weeks of a basketball sports intervention, while the control group received the usual interventions. At three time points-
baseline, 8 weeks after the intervention, and 16 weeks after the intervention, three components of the participants’ executive
functions-inhibition, updating, and shifting—were assessed using Flanker tasks, 2-back tasks, and more-odd shifting.. View More»
