Mohamed is a Research Fellow at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Nottingham. He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from University of Nottingham, awarded in 2017. His PhD project was on microwave pyrolysis of biomass materials. Mohamed is currently working on a project aimed at developing a process for electromagnetically-assisted catalytic upgrading of heavy oils. His research interests involve microwave processing of materials, process intensification, biomass pyrolysis, thermal and catalytic upgrading of heavy oil, heterogeneous catalysis, and microwave-assisted synthesis and processing of carbon nanostructures.
