    Mobilizing Patients with Adequate Care Services Critical for the Rehabilitation Process and Health Outcomes

    Immobilized patients are too frequently left in an immobilized state for too long, leading to secondary complications that are often more severe than the primary disorder that led to immobilization. Data now show the significant benefits of mobilizing patients as quickly as possible to avoid or reverse these types of complications. While there has been a paradigm shift in the view of the value of bedrest, mobilizing patients early is still limited by a lack of relevant resources to help support the rehabilitation process.
