    Study of the Effect of Salt on the L-L Extraction of Carboxylic Acids (Formic; Acetic; Propionic) by Tributylphosphate (TBP)

    Several previous experiments have shown that salt has a significant effect on the liquid-liquid extraction process, it has been used to enhance the "Salting-out" yield of this process. This is because the presence of salt affects the solubility of the elements present in an aqueous solution, in particular the solute. The addition of a salt to an aqueous solution introduces ionic forces that affect the equilibrium and directly influence the solute's distribution coefficient.
