Beginning with an examination of the region's historical significance and contemporary socio-political context, the study meticulously traces the evolution of identity and its connection to marginalization. The research scrutinizes the transformation of the Niger Delta's socio-political landscape, from peaceful protests for socioeconomic justice to violent militant agitations, dissecting the causes such as environmental degradation, economic disparities and repressive responses.
