Biography

Born the 27th November 1952 in Bari-Italy Graduated in Medicine in 1979 at the University of Bari and there qualified in 1982 at the Dermatology Clinic with high honors.He has worked in this structure until 1989 as a research volunteer and for several years with a grant from the CNR for the project aimed at "control of neoplastic growth." From 1989 to 1997 he has worked as a consultant dermatologist at the Centre for Research on Pathology of Soft Tissue and at the Laser Ambulatory of the Institute of Semiotic Surgery of University of Bari.In 1996 he has founded the NPO 'Mediterranean Association for Alopecia Areata” together with a group of doctors and patients, to support the study of this important disease. In 2000 he was conferred the position of Head of the Group of Trichology of the Italian Association of Ambulatory Dermatologists (AIDA). In 2010 he was appointed Head of Trichology Division of the Association of Dermatologists of Magna Graecia (ADMG). He is member of the Italian Group of Trichology (GITRI) and of the Italian Society of Tricology (SITRI).He has published works on Immunopathology of the skin and Trichology, and has contributed to the drafting of Degrees and Specialization, Communications and Reports in national and international conferences. He is professor in courses and symposia CME, since their establishment and is member of the Editorial Board of the journal "DermatologiaAmbulatoriale ", of the "Italian Journal of Trichology" and referee for national and international journals.
