Prof. Dr Pritish Chowdhury has received his PhD in `Chemical Transformations of Abundant Natural Products' from the Gauhati University, India during the period of. 1982. Currently, he is working as Chief Scientist & Professor, AcSIR at CSIR-North East Institute of Science & Technology, Jorhat, India. He has successfully completed his Administrative responsibilities as PI & Coordinator, Indo-EU International Collaborative Project `NAMASTE-India' under FP7 Call. His research has included Natural Products, New Synthetic Methodologies of Chemical Importance, Steroid Transformations, Steroid-Peptide Conjugates, Medicinal Rice & Nutraceuticals. Based on this research and fellowship training he has received several awards and honors, such as DAAD Fellowship, Dr BM Das Memorial Science Award, Prestigious Author`s Certificate from OMICS Publishing Group, USA etc. He is serving as an Editorial Member of the journal `World Journal of Organic Chemistry' & expert Reviewer for several journals Organic & Food Chemistry. He has authored more than 50 research articles in peer reviewed national & international journals of Organic Chemistry & Food Sciences & also authored a Book Chapter entitled ` Soft Glucocorticoids: Eye-targeted Chemical Delivery Systems (CDS) and Retrometabolic Drug Design' of an international book `Glucocorticoids-Our Familiar Friends'. He is a member of a number of learned Chemical Societies. He is a recognized PhD guide of universities, viz., Gauhati, Dibrugarh & USTM, India and several scholars received their PhD degrees under his guidance.
