Dr. Burrows has been performing pediatric vascular interventional radiology and pediatric interventional neuroradiology since 1986, with a focus on the diagnosis and treatment of vascular malformations. After working for more than a decade at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, she was director of the division of interventional radiology at Boston Children's Hospital and helped establish the Vascular Anomalies Center. Boston Children's recognized her contributions to their program by endowing the Patricia E. Burrows Chair in Interventional Radiology and Vascular Anomalies.
Dr. Burrows has been involved extensively in clinical research and teaching pediatric vascular interventional radiology and vascular anomalies. She has served on the executive board of the International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies (ISSVA), for nine years and currently serves as the past president. Dr. Burrows is a coauthor of the comprehensive textbook "Mulliken and Young’s Vascular Anomalies." It gives her great pleasure to continue working with children and adults with vascular malformations.
