    Mothers Experiences with Cut380a Postpartum Intrauterine Contraceptive Device in Enugu, Southeast, Nigeria

    Objective: To assess mother’s experiences with CuT380A Postpartum Intrauterine Contraceptive Device (PPIUD). Subjects and methods: Mothers who accepted PPIUD in three centers in Enugu from August 1, 2013 to July 31, 2014 were the subjects of the study. Mother’s experiences with PPIUD were assessed with structured questionnaires. Data was analyzed using excel 2007 software, and presented using percentages and graphs.  Results: Fifteen PPIUD were inserted during caesarean deliveries while 66 were inserted vaginally.  Majority of the mothers were of ages 31-40 years 43(53%), married 76(93.8%), secondary educated 46(56.8) and para 2-4 68(84%).
