Biography

I was born and raised in Thailand. Both of my parents are pharmacists and university professors, which are the main reasons I went to pharmacy school and followed their lead. After graduation from pharmacy school (5 year program), I went to graduate school and earned my MS in clinical pharmacology. I joined the faculty of Silpakorn University’s School of Pharmacy in Nakornprathom, Thailand where I taught pharmacology and toxicology to pharmacy students. Four years later, I returned to my hometown and taught therapeutics at Khon Khaen University School of Pharmacy.  I completed a one-year residency and a one-year fellowship in clinical neurology in Khon Khaen University’s School of Medicine.I joined the UAMS College of Pharmacy in August 2008 as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Pharmaceutical Evaluation and Policy (PEP), Department of Pharmacy Practice. I teach as part of a team that presents the U.S. Healthcare System for Pharmacists (P1), Evidence-based Medicine (P3), and Pharmacy Management (P3) courses. I also teach Patient-reported Outcomes (PRO) Measurements and Research Methods in the PEP Graduate Program. I am currently developing an elective course on health literacy with Dr. Kristie Hadden to offer as an interprofessional education course, which we hope to offer in Fall 2014.

Almost half of my time is devoted to research. My research focuses on methods for evaluating health-related quality of life outcomes and translating those outcomes into economic evaluations for dissemination. My expertise includes survey instrument development, psychometric testing, and PRO methodological design. Recent areas of interest have been the selection of appropriate outcomes measures in specific populations such as children with autism and patients with head and neck cancer. I am also interested in women’s health and pharmacy educational research and in student progression issues.
