Michael E. Brown is a Professor in Mississippi State University, USA. He is awarded PhD in Geography from The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 2000. He holds M.S. in Geosciences from Mississippi State University in 1995 and B.S. in Meteorology from Western Illinois University in 1991. He is also a climatologist/meteorologist with interest in land-surface-atmosphere interactions. He is known for his work with hazard mitigation for college campuses. He has studies the natural and man-made hazards common to higher education institutions and has given numerous seminars on how campuses can better mitigate these threats.
