Biography
Kasi Viswanadh Gorthi is a Professor of Civil Engineering and Director, Academic & Planning at JNTU college of Hyderabad, India. He is awarded Ph.D. in Water Resources from JNTU Hyderabad in 1996.  He has published 12 well-researched scholarly papers at National and International levels, guided 10 Ph.Ds and 23 M.Tech dissertations.  His research interests are in the areas of Integrated Water Resources Management, Watershed Management, Rainwater Harvesting, Management of Lift Irrigation Schemes and GIS Applications in Water Resources Management. He has organized 9 national conferences and workshops besides being a member of organizing committees for several seminars and workshops at National and International levels. He has been associated with several MHRD and AICTE R&D Projects. He has been actively involved in several Industrial Consultancy Projects like Third Party Quality control of Irrigation projects, Comparative Evaluation of Minor irrigation Projects, NFFWP works, Fire safety for High rise hospitals etc.  He is the Technical Paper Reviewer for the Civil Engineering Journal published by Institution of Engineers, and the Journal of Spatial Hydrology.  He is also a Fellow of Institution of Engineers and a member of many professional bodies. He worked as the Convener for VRO/VRA recruitment examination, Co convener for EAMCET during 2010, 2011, 2012 & 2013 and Convener for Faculty Eligibility Test- FET 2011 &2012.He received the Young Engineer Award from the Institution of Engineers and the State Government of Andhra Pradesh in 1996, and bagged the Kancha Reddy Memorial Award for the Best Paper published in IWWA, India, in 2007. He received Andhra Pradesh State Level Best Teacher Award for the year 2010.
