Julie Dee Bell is a Senior Lecturer in London South Bank University, London, United Kingdom. She is graduated with her PhD from University of Hong Kong in Earth Science, her research on unconsolidated sediment won one of the nine divisions on the world level. The background of ‘Oil Sands Fabric Analysis’ was a result from her PhD study. She moved to London, England and worked offshore UK, North and West Africa. After which, took up a position as Senior Lecturer of Petroleum Geoscience in a Petroleum Engineering Programme at London South Bank University and wrote a research programme on ‘Fabric and Flow of Oil Sands’ for the McMurray Formation, with a case study on the Upper McMurray Member. With over 20 years’ experience in thin section analysis, Julie started petroregos consulting worldwide and providing classes on thin section analysis for reservoir management.
