Biography
Dr. McKhann has over 15 years of experience at Columbia/NYPH, combining clinical skill and compassionate care to maximize patient outcomes. He works with multidisciplinary teams to treat patients with a variety of brain conditions including Brain Tumors, Epilepsy,Movement Disorders,Adult Hydrocephalus,Trigeminal Neuralgia,Chiari Malformations,and Cavernous Malformations.Dr. McKhann also works as a translational neuroscientist, directing the Epilepsy Neurophysiology Laboratory and collaborating with Dr. Sheth in the Functional and Cognitive Neurophysiology laboratory and with Dr. Bruce in the Gabriele Bartoli Brain Tumor Research Laboratory. His basic and clinical research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Klingenstein Foundation, the Charles A. Dana Foundation, the New York Academy of Medicine, Parents Against Childhood Epilepsy, the Irving Center for Clinical Research, and the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance.

 brain mapping; minimally invasive, computer guided microneurosurgery; stereotactic laser ablation for tumors and epilepsy; gamma knife radiosurgery; deep brain stimulation; neuroendoscopy and cerebrospinal fluid shunting
