Biography

Description : Dr. Subir Kumar Das is presently a Chief Scientist at Mineral Processing Department in the CSIR-Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT), Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. He has Master Degree in Geology from Department of Geology, Utkal University in 1977 and Ph.D (Geology) from the same university in 1995. He worked for about one year as geolgost in the Directorate of Mining and Geology, Govt. of Odisha during 1981-1982. Since 19.06.1982, he is continuing as Scientist at different positions. His expertise includes process mineralogy of low grade ores, petrology and geochemistry of basic and ultrabasic rocks. He visited Institut fur Mineralogie und lagersttatenlehre der RWTH, Aachen Germany during Oct., 1993-Dec., 1993 for higher studies on Ni-laterites. He visted Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (GIT) for prewntation of paper in Dec., 2012. He has 18 papers in peer-reviewed international/national journals and 40 in referred conference proceedings. He is author of 65 nos. of technical reports and has also four patents to his credit.
