Biography
After receiving her Ph.D. in social welfare from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1993, she spent two years backpacking across Africa and Southeast Asia. Â She completed a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in clinical psychology at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. After her post-doctoral fellowship, she was employed as a behavioral scientist at the National Health and Medical Research Center's National Breast Cancer Center in Sydney, Australia for one year. Â Following this position, she began my academic career as a lecturer in social work for two years at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, and then obtained her current position as an assistant professor in the College of Social Work at the University of Tennessee.
