Biography
Arie (Lev) Gilat is a retired senior researcher in Geological Survey of Israel (GSI), Israel. He defended the Ph.D. thesis in the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, titled “Tectonics and Associated Mineralization Activity, southern Judea, Israel”. After retired in 2004 from GSI he continued the theoretical work with A. Vol on the Earth’s primordial hydrogen and helium degassing as the main energy source for internal terrestrial processes participated in gold exploration, geochemical mapping, in the study of sinkhole development processes and earthquake-related hydrothermal explosions along the Western Coast of the Dead Sea. He is the author and co-author of more than one hundred publications, active member of European Academy of Natural Sciences, and ménage to mesh the theoretical work with geological trips in Israel and other countries, and participate in geological conferences.
