Abstract

On Probability Distribution of First Absorption Time in Branching Processes

In this paper, by using diusion approximation we derive the probability distribution of time to extinction of the Galton-Watson branchingprocess. It is shown that this probability distribution can be expressed in terms of Laguerre polynomials.
