Professor Tong Wang has received his PhD in Jinan University during the period of 2001-2004. He was trained as a postdoc at University of Nebraska Medical Center and University of Washington during the year of 2006-2010. Currently, he is working as a professor of molecular systems biology and biomedical engineering in Jinan University at Guangzhou, China. He is serving as a reviewer for journals like Journal of Proteomics and Bioinformatics, Journal of Proteome Research, Journal of Proteomics, Proteomics Molecular BioSystems, Scientific Reports, PloS ONE, and BMC Genomics, etc. He have authored more than 20 research articles/books. He is a board member of Human Proteome Organization of China (CNHUPO), and has chaired the CNHUPO Youth Committee (2015-2016). He is also a member of American Chemistry Society (membership award).
His research is focusing on the systems rule discovery in the field of infection and cancer, integrating proteomics, next-generation sequencing, computational biology and cellular and molecular biology. He is also developing novel strategies for the precision detection of very low level infection and cancer.
