Stephen Mortlock

Biography

Stephen Mortlock is the Global Infectious Diseases and Microbiology Liaison at the Q2 Solutions laboratory in Heston UK. Prior to joining Q2 Solutions, Stephen was the Chief Microbiologist at the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in Lahore, Pakistan where he was responsible for setting up the microbiology department. During this time he was awarded a DSc for his work setting up an antenatal screening programme. He also sat on the control of infection committee and environmental monitoring team. Stephen and colleagues have published over 70 papers on an eclectic mix of subjects from enteric pathogens, food science, quality assurance and the use of saliva for HIV antibody screening. Stephen has also worked for the Health Protection Agency in the UK and spent time in the USA, Africa and the Middle East. Along with his professional qualifications Stephen is also a Churchill Fellow, a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health and the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.
