Ramesh Marupaka is a Guest Researcher at National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Gaithersburg, MD, USA, since November, 2012 and have been working on identification and characterization of metabolites in human urine (SRM),‘E. Coli’ and ‘CHO’ cells using LC-MS/MS. Prior to moving to NIST, he earned his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry with Dr. Srinivas Ragampeta at Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), Hyderabad, India. There he developed tandem mass spectrometric methods for peptides, ureidopeptides and biologically important compounds. During his doctoral/postdoctoral work he have been exposed to various conventional and advanced mass spectral techniques combined with liquid chromatography. He have contributed to fifteen research publications in highly reputed international journals. Some of his Fellowships and Awards: Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), India, NET- Eligibility for Lectureship (2006). CSIR - Senior Research Fellowship (2009). Accomplished 1st prize for the presentation of Business Plan in 7Th Technology Led Entrepreneurship Programme (TLEP) conducted by CSIR, Faculty IIM, Bangalore, June 1-22, 2010 at IICT, Hyderabad, India.
Expertise in handling various types of mass spectrometric techniques. Well-versed in handling hyphenated techniques like LC-MS, and GC-MS Strong analytical abilities in the interpretation of data (biological and organic data) Expert in method development, method validation and Quantitative analysis Sample preparation and pre-processing of metabolomics data using XCMS Familiar with FDA guidance and regulations.
