Prof. José Ignacio Álvarez has received his PhD in the University of Navarra during the period of1993-1997. Currently, he is working as Full Professor of Inorganic Chemistry in the University of Navarra. He has successfully completed his Administrative responsibilities as Head of Department and Leader of the MIMED research group. His research has included the study of air lime mortars and pastes, cements, new additives and admixtures to improve properties and to use repair mortars for Built Heritage. He is serving as an editorial member of several reputed journals like The Scientific World Journal, Advances in Materials Research and The Open Materials Science Journal & expert Reviewer for journals like Cement and Concrete Research, Construction & Building Materials, Cement and Concrete Composites, Journal of Hazardous Materials, Journal of the American Ceramic Society, Thermochimica Acta. He has authored more than 65 research articles and more than 40 congress communications
