Greta Wozniak

Biography

Greta Wozniak MD., has received his PhD in Neurosciences at University of Thessaly, School of Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, during the period of 1999 -2003. Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in the Molecular Medicine took from Faculty of Medicine, University of Thessaly Larissa, Greece during the period of 2004 – 2009, at the same time she was Research Fellow at Department of Radiology - Medical Imaging at University Hospital of Larissa, Greece. Currently, she is working as Academic staff in Medical School, University of Cyprus, Nicosia, Cyprus. She has successfully completed her Administrative responsibilities as Head of Basic Medical Laboratory Sector at Applied University of Thessaly, Greece from 2008- 2012 and also she was Supervisor, Scientific Responsible and Member of Committee for the generation of post-graduate MSc thesis within the Master program Primary Health Care. Her research has included neuronal function between dorsal and ventral hippocampus: membrane properties, excitatory and inhibitory synaptic transmission. She has a strong track record in neurophysiology of neurons communication mechanisms. Based on this research and fellowship training he has received several awards and honors, such as: Award for the research study with title: Intracellular recordings from morphologically identified neurons of cat and rat nucleus reticularis thalami (NRT) which was awarded by the Greek Organization for Neurosciences (GON) at the 15th Congress of GON Patra’s University, 27-29 of October 2000. Recently, she has played particular attention into the genetic mechanisms of disease, specially neurodegenerative. Furthermore, she has interested of evaluation of biomarkers: serotonin (SER), neurospecific enolase (NSE), for the prediction, diagnosis, classification, and prognosis to post-injury brain depression. She is serving as an editorial member of several reputed journals like Journal Review of Cardiovascular Risk Factors, Editor I.A. Kyriazis.
