Dagmar Lagerberg has received her PhD in 1975, Uppsala University. Currently, she is retired but active as a senior researcher in Uppsala University. She has successfully completed her administrative responsibilities as joint leader of a study of services to families and children, and a study of methods in child health care. Her research has included child abuse and neglect, services to families and children and methods in child health care. Based on mainly her engagement in child abuse and neglect and child protection she has received Allmänna Barnhuset's great award in 2003 (jointly with professor Claes Sundelin) (and for work outside her professional field the French decoration Palmes Académiques in 1992). She has served as a reviewer for journals like Acta Paediatrica, International Journal of Nursing Studies, Journal of Reproductive and Infant Psychology, Scandinavian Journal of Public Health. She has authored about 25 research articles/books.
