Antonia Follenzi

Biography

Antonia Follenzi graduated in Medicine (March 1992) at the University of Turin. In April 1992 he became qualified to the Profession of Medical Doctor. In 1997 he specialized in Clinical Pathology at the University of Turin and in 2001 he received the title of Doctor of Human Oncology at the University of Turin. During the period of specialization he spent one year (1996) in Israel at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot at the laboratory of Professor Gene regulation. Joseph Yarden. From 1998 to 2003 he worked all'IRCC Candiolo (TO) with Prof. Luigi Naldini projects in gene therapy through the use of Lentiviral vectors. From 2003 to 2006 she was in the US in New York at the Albert Einstein of Medicine in the laboratory of prof. Sanjeev Gupta where he is currently Visiting Assistant Professor. Since March 2006, researcher at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Eastern Piedmont "A. Avogadro ", scientific sector BIO / 17 (Histology). The research carried out so far mainly the cell and gene therapy of hemophilia A and cell transplantation in different liver disease models, with particular regard to the implications of cell biology and molecular processes of engraftment and proliferation of endothelial cells, macrophages and hepatocytes. .
