Mass spectrometry approach for characterization of biotherapeutics from a CRO point of view

5th International Conference on Proteomics & Bioinformatics

September 01-03, 2015 Valencia, Spain

Carles Celma Lezcano

Kymos Pharma Services, Spain

Scientific Tracks Abstracts: J Proteomics Bioinform

Abstract :

The lecture will be mainly focalised in the structural characterization of recombinant proteins following the recommendations of the ICH Q6B. Although several aspects of the protein characterization will also be pointed, the discussion will be focalized in the study of the primary structure of the protein by mass spectrometric methods. The quality attributes treated will be: â?¢ Peptide mapping â?¢ Amino acid sequence confirmation â?¢ Mass determination of the whole molecule â?¢ N and C terminus verification â?¢ Posttranslational modifications A discussion on the technical approaches for these quality attributes will be presented and examples will be provided.
