Abstract :

Lean Six Sigma methodology, an approach made the world amazed. As we know Six Sigma first appears in Motorola then it transferred to all fields. For me I think that Lean Six Sigma started lately in pharmaceuticals, however all of us were excited for that, but unfortunately I don't see the effect of Lean Six Sigma in pharmaceuticals clear & powerful as other fields. In every field you will find the pioneers or the market leaders are Lean Six Sigma deploying companies such as: GE in healthcare, Lufthansa in aviation, HSBC in banking, ford in automotives, Vodafone in telecommunications, etc. I know that companies like: GSK, Novartis, Abbott & others have their own Lean Six Sigma programs, but with full respect to them I see that the deployment & application is below the target or is not deep as in other fields. So, the question is why? Why we don't have a well established lean six sigma programs in our pharmaceutical companies? I want to see a complete system linking the lean six sigma to all aspects in the company & gives the Lean Six Sigma team their power & authority to change whatever they see it must be changed (after top management approval of course). We must focus on the deployment of solid Lean Six Sigma programs in our pharmaceutical companies & give them whatever they will need to success; I want to see more & more six sigma projects to make the pharmaceutical organizations the most leading Lean Six Sigma companies in the globe
