Abstract :

The aim of present study was isolated the moronic acid from the leaves of Bambus vulgaris. Triterpenes were therapeutic application as antitumor, anti-HIV, antioxidant, anticonvulsant, antibacterial, hypoglycemic, hepatoprotective. The simple triterpenoids moronic acid was isolated from chloroform extracts by using different solvents systems such as ethyl acetate, chloroform, methanol as per ascending polarity with silica glass chromatography and the resulting isolated compound was characterize by chemical screening, thin layer chromatography and spectroscopic studies such as IR, H1NMR, C13NMR, and mass spectroscopy. The isolated compound confirmed as moronic acid on the basis of comparision official refferences.
