Abstract :

Endometriosis is substantial morbidity, severe pelvic pain, multiple surgeries and it??s clinically defined as the presence of ectopic endometrium-like tissue, resulting in a sustained inflammatory reaction. It??s found predominantly in women of child bearing age. The exact prevalence of endometriosis is unknown. An estimated 176 million women worldwide and 26 million women in India are affected by endometriosis or associated with pelvic pain and/or infertility can be surgical. Medical therapy is non-specific, non??aimed at alleviating symptoms till menopause or until pregnancy is desired. The rationale is to induce amenorrhea and create hypo estrogenic environment. Theoretically, inhibiting growth and promoting temporary regression. Fertility is eliminated during treatments as medical suppression inhibits ovulation. So we tried sclerosing therapy, using Leuprolide and Cefaprazone sulbactum as sclerosing agents. The aims of treating endometriosis: ? Is to alleviate the pain ? To avoid recurrence ? To avoid Repeated surgeries ? To preserve the ovarian tissue from the damage Through sclerotherapy we were able to achieve the above mentioned points. There has been a promising clinical success rate of above 80% observed during the 24 months follow up. Consequently, it become clear that sclerosing therapy is a viable and effective modality of therapy that prevents repeated surgeries and preserve ovarian tissue and is a boon to frustrated patients with minimal recurrence.
