Abstract :

Pharma 4.0 (P4.0) or digitization promises benefits like reduced costs, lead times, better quality and higher efficiency in the Pharmaceutical Supply Chain. The nature of the industry and its impact on patient safety provides unique challenges to digital implementations. This paper identifies the primary factors considered for P4.0. Research information was gathered through an exploratory study of primary and secondary data. A mixed methodology details the existing core factors identified through a systematic Literature review and a combination of primary and secondary data collection and analysis. This includes interviews, focus groups and surveys. A simple direct relationship between the factors, and its impact on P4.0 implementation of the Pharmaceutical supply chain is positioned in the research model. The paper recommends usage and implementation of key management models and a structured framework to mitigate risks to leaders, managers and change agents in the Pharmaceutical Supply.
