Water Quality Journals

Water quality is the chemical, physical, biological, and radiological characteristics of water. Water quality is measured by several factors, such as the concentration of dissolved oxygen, bacteria levels, the amount of salt, or the amount of material suspended in the water. It also sustains ecological processes that support native fish populations, vegetation, wetlands and birdlife. Water crisis has become a part of our life. This is not altogether due to shortage of rain fall. Increasing population, growing industrialization, expanding urbanization, agriculture etc. demand more and more water. Coping up with these developments requires various tactics to overcome the water shortage and satisfy the need of all. The main activity in this direction is to decrease the pollution level of discharged effluents and treatment of contaminated water to acceptable quality. When the water is polluted, it can be improved by diluting the degraded water with the higher quality water. Water quality management in particular, requires both knowledge and a full understanding of the processes affecting water quantity and quality.
