Squamous Cell Carcinoma Research Articles

It is the second most common form of skin cancer. It's usually found on areas of the body damaged by UV rays from the sun or tanning beds. Sun-exposed skin includes the head, neck, chest, upper back, ears, lips, arms, legs, and hands. SCC is a fairly slow-growing skin cancer. Most squamous cell skin cancers are found and treated at an early stage, when they can be removed or destroyed with local treatment methods. ,  It is also known as epidermoid carcinomas, comprise a number of different types of cancer that result from squamous cells. Squamous Cell Carcinoma Treatment Excisional surgery., Mohs surgery., Cryosurgery.Curettage and electrodesiccation (electrosurgery)Laser surgery.Radiation., Photodynamic therapy (PDT), Topical medications. Excision: Cutting out the tumor, along with a small margin of normal skin, is often used to treat squamous cell cancers. Curettage and electrodesiccation: This approach is sometimes useful in treating small (less than 1 cm across), thin squamous cell cancers, but it's not recommended for larger tumors.
