The study of these complex molecules, known as lipidomics, has gained significant attention in recent years. Lipidomic analysis involves the comprehensive identification and quantification of lipid species within a biological system, providing valuable insights into cellular function, metabolism, and disease states.

The complexity of lipids

Lipids are structurally diverse, with thousands of different molecular species identified to date. They serve essential functions such as energy storage, cell membrane structure, and cell signaling.
