In Korea, antibiotic solution rate for RTIs stays high. These bacteria may infect humans and animals, and therefore the infections they cause are harder to treat than those caused by nonresistant bacteria. Antibiotic resistance results in higher medical costs, prolonged hospital stays, and increased mortality.
