The existence of pollutants in the environment that are detrimental to the health of humans and other living organisms, or that cause damage to the ecosystem or to materials, is air pollution. Air contaminants, such as gases, particulates, and biological molecules, are of various kinds. Air pollution, including respiratory infections, heart disease, COPD, stroke and lung cancer, is a major risk factor for a variety of pollution-related diseases. The effects of poor air quality on human health are far ranging, but they primarily affect the respiratory system of the body and the cardiovascular system. Individual responses to air pollutants depend on the type of pollutant an individual is exposed to.

Causes of air pollution: By burning of fossil fuels which release some of chemicals and gases in to air. Invisible air pollutants are more dangerous and it is less noticed and invisible like Sulphur dioxide, carbon monoxide. Ammonia is one of the common by product using in Agricultural activities, as it is one of the harmful gases in the atmosphere. Releasing large amount of gases from the manufacturing industries like organic compounds, hydro compounds thereby destroy the quality of air. Effects on wild life, Depletion of ozone layer and Health issues.

Control devices: The following products are widely used in manufacturing and transportation as emissions control devices. Before it is released into the atmosphere, they will either kill pollutants or remove them from the exhaust stream. For particulate control they use particulate scrubbers, bag houses, electrostatic precipitators and scrubbers.

Prevention: Avoid burning woods, plastics, leaves, and other materials. Air borne particles can be removed from the polluted streams by using physical processes. Reducing air pollution may have a positive impact on the prevention of air borne diseases. We can reduce by using eco –friendly transportation. Avoiding the use of fire crackers. Reusing and recycling the products
