The remarkable advancements have been developed in the treatment of HIV, transforming it from a deadly disease to a possible chronic condition. Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy (HAART) has been the base of HIV treatment, effectively suppressing viral replication, preserving immune function, and improving the overall quality of life for individuals living with HIV. With the development of newer antiretroviral drugs, treatment and control have become more simplified, better tolerated, and more potent, enabling people to live longer and healthier lives.

Prevention efforts

Prevention remains a crucial aspect of combating HIV. Education campaigns, increased access to needle exchange programs, and the availability of Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PREP) have played significant roles in reducing the transmission rates of HIV.
