Yumay Chen

Biography

University of CaliforniaYumay Chen was born in Taiwan, in 1963. She received the Bachelor of Science degree from National Chung-Hsing University, Tai-Chung, Taiwanin 1987 and the PhD degree from the University of Texas Health Science at San Antonio, Texas, USA, in 1997. Her research has been focuses on the molecular and cellular basis of stress response pathways with the believe that a thoroughly understanding in these pathways will lead to a better understanding of the diseases that can arise when these pathways are tampered- such as cancers, cystic disease, diabetics, etc. She received Patricia Welder Robinson Young Investigator Award in 2002 and ASN Carl W. Gottschalk Research Scholar Award in 2003.  She current is an Assistant Professor at University of California, Irvine.
 

Research Interest

Cell cycle regulation, DNA damage response/repair, mitosis regulation, polycystic kidney disease.
