Yulong Sun

Biography

Dr. Sun received his Ph.D degree in Chemistry from Fudan University, Shanghai, China, and continued his scientific training with postdoctoral fellowships in Pharmacology at Beijing Medical University from 1996-1998 and in Biomechanics at Mayo Clinic, Minnesota from 1998-2004. Then he worked as a Research Associate at the same institute. Since 2006, he has been working as an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering in Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Mayo Clinic. Rochester, Minnesota. He has published 58 research articles in the fields of chemistry, material science, biochemistry, biophysics, biomechanics, physiology, orthopedics and sports science.

Research Interest

Dr. Sun′s research interests mainly focus on function of biopolymers in tissues, biomechanics of biopolymers and soft tissues, mechanobiology of soft tissues, soft tissue injuries, wound healing, postsurgical adhesion prohibition, regeneration medicine, and biomaterial.
