Woon Wong received his Ph.D. from University of Manchester in 1993, and since then he had held academic posts at Cardiff Business School in Wales, University of Stirling in Scotland and Tamkang University in Taiwan. At present, he is a Reader in Financial Risk Management at Bristol Business School in University of West of England. He also teaches M.Sc. Investment and Electronic Trading module at Cardiff Business School. He has published various articles in Economic Journal, Journal of Banking and Finance, European Journal of Finance, Journal of Empirical Finance, Pacific Basin Finance Journal and other peer-reviewed academic journals. His research interests include financial markets, risk management, applied econometrics, asset pricing and technical trading. Professionally, he had worked in financial sector and managed an equity hedge fund investing S&P 500 constituent stocks. He is currently a member of Global Association of Risk Professionals and is a qualified Financial Risk Manager (FRM).
