Dr. Vishwendra Patel did his B.Sc (Human Biology) and M.Sc. (Human Physiology) from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India. He finished his PhD. from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in 2013. Currently he works in Department of Pharmacology and Physiology at New Jersey Medical School, Rutgers University. He is involved in several projects focusing on peripheral nervous system and muscle function. The broad focus of his research is to understand the regulation of synaptic neurotransmitter release and how it is modulated in different diseases/by different toxins and chemicals. He is also an enthusiastic teacher and has been actively involved in teaching human physiology and neuroscience to high school, graduate, medical school and nursing students.
