Vijai Singh currently works as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology, Invertis University, Bareilly, India. He has previously worked as a Research Scientist from Biobrainz Life Sciences, Lucknow, India. He did his Postdoctoral training from Institute of Systems and Synthetic Biology, University of Evry, Evry, France. He received his Ph.D. degree in 2009 in Biotechnology from Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow, India. He pursued his career in Biotechnology as a Senior Research Fellow from National Bureau of Fish Genetic resources, Lucknow, India. His research interests include the development of molecular and immunoassays for disease diagnosis and also control of pathogens. He has successfully engineered and characterized the promoters, transcription factors and also novel gene regulatory networks especially a number of synthetic oscillators and biologic gate towards biotechnological applications. He is also interested in designing/ redesigning/rewiring of biosynthetic pathways for production value-added products. He has published 2 books, 2 book chapters, and 54 research articles. He serves as a member of editorial board and reviewer of a number of peer-reviewed journals; and also a member of number of international societies.
