Dr Polimenis received his PhD in Finance from Wharton Business School of the University of Pennsylvania. Since spring 2008, he is at the Business Division of the School of Law and Economics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has been an Associate Professor of finance with the Pepperdine University in Malibu.
Professor Polimenis is internationally recognized in the areas of Financial Valuation, Asset Pricing and Financial Risk Management. His teaching and research interests are in the valuation of illiquid assets, the use of Derivatives for Risk Management, Corporate Finance, International Financial Risk Management for Banking and Financial Institutions, and the Fixed Income, Credit Risk and Currency markets. He also has an interest in how electronic markets improve efficiency and compete with traditional trading floors. Furthermore, he is strongly interested in Venture Capital financing, and the valuation of entrepreneurial high tech start-ups, and the effect of patents on company valuation.
